Why We Started Southwest Pet Labs
Southwest Pet Labs was founded on a hard lesson: we were once on the receiving end of what can go wrong in pet supplement manufacturing. Our first order took four months. As an upstart brand, we were given little priority, and could only watch our schedule erode week after week. When the batch finally arrived, it wasn't like the sample: the odor had changed. You don't need to tell a dog with its keen nose that something's off.
So we stopped leaving things to chance on someone else's line and built our own, with one rule: a batch has to match what was approved, on a timetable we stand behind. Once your recipe and label are signed off, your order is done in six weeks or less. That's the standard behind every client project, so no one else has to endure the wait or the mismatch we did.
What we believe
A final product should always match its sample, no exceptions
Compliance risks like Prop 65 should be raised before they're a problem, not after
A low minimum order shouldn't mean lower standards
Your formula is yours, never shared with or reused for another client, ever
A supplement only matters if the animal will actually eat it, so palatability gets tested every time, not assumed
Most manufacturers demand 2,500 to 5,000 units before they'll even discuss custom formulation. We start at 300.
Start With 300 Jars, Not 5,000+
Our Unique Edge
Every recipe is built by our in-house PhD team and reviewed by a consulting veterinary nutritionist. No extra charge, no exceptions.
PhD-Formulated, Vet-Reviewed
Every batch is tested for microbial contamination. If it doesn't pass, it doesn't leave our facility.
Tested Before It Ships
Once you approve your recipe and label, your finished order ships within six weeks, guaranteed.
A Timeline You Can Plan Around
There is no need to mince words as to what we are at present. We are a powder-only operation with one location and have not yet put our name to the NASC. As the company expands, we will be working toward chews and that certification. In the meantime, we have put private label on the market to give brands a quicker, more economical means of doing business with us. We prefer to be upfront about our position so there are no surprises down the line.
